Allen McCormick

Allen McCormick, 59, of Lee, Florida has been nominated for induction into the prestigious Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in St. Louis, MO. This is a very deserving honor and comes as no surprise to his many fans. Allen has played steel guitar for approximately 25 years, and has been in the music field over 40 years. At the prestigious Gospel Post Convention in Bell, Florida in 2001, Allen won steel guitarist of the year. This is a notable win because it is voted on by the fans. He has also won instrumentalist of the year three consecutive years in a row, which is also a notable win. In 2002 he was voted "Tenor Of The Year". The McCormick Family has also won mixed group of the year for three consecutive years. Allen’s wife, Brenda has won guitarist of the year for three consecutive years. Youngest son Ridge won vocalist of the year 1998 and drummer of the year 2001. Allen is showcased during concerts on the steel guitar with his rendition of such greats as the Great Speckled Bird, I’ll Fly Away, and The Old Rugged Cross. Allen continues to do concerts and expand the knowledge of the steel guitar through his concerts as well as giving private lessons. Allen has played events for the Lee Fire Department, Lee Homecoming Day, Madison Down Home Day, Greenville Country Christmas, as well as many other charitable events to raise money for the needy. Allen has devoted the past 21 years to spreading the Gospel, and to help raise money for people with cancer and other debilitating diseases. Allen has been married to the former Brenda Lasseter, for 27 years. Brenda is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Charles R. Lasseter, of Lee, Florida. Allen & Brenda have two sons, Chad, 23, married to Krystal Shefbuch, had their first child, Chad Alen, on July 14, 2002. Ridge 12, plays bass in the family band. Allen, you are most deserving of this prestigious award. Your family, friends, and the County of Madison congratulate you. We are proud that you call Madison County home.

Brenda McCormick

Wife of Allen, grew up a Pentecostal Preachers Daughter. Brenda had been involved in the Gospel most all of her life but had never accepted Christ as her Savior. Brenda and her brother Trent had been members of a gospel group during their teen years but one by one the group got married and drifted apart. Brenda was saved in a little church in Quitman, Ga. In November of 1981. Brenda & Allen have five children & six grandchildren.

Trent Lasseter

Brenda’s brother, joined the group in March 2002. Trent was also a preacher’s kid and did not give his life to the Lord until 2001. Trent has always been great on the Bass guitar and the Lead guitar. He also has a great singing voice. Trent is married to Suzanne Agner Lasseter and they have 2 children, and one grandson.

Suzanne Lasseter

Trent’s wife, occasionally travels with the group and helps with the promotional table as well as singing and playing the piano. Suzanne totally supports the group and does everything she can to help.
